The 2021 tournament is now closed to further participants.
Each player will be entered into two games, which will be played at the same time.
All games will be played on playdiplomacy.com
Deadlines will be 48 hours for moves, 24 hours for retreats and builds
No actions will be due on weekends
Game Set #1 will begin on 9/1/21
Game Set #2 will begin on 9/8/21
Games will be scored using the C-Diplo format, which is explained below
All games that do not end in a solo will be adjudicated at the end of Winter 1910
Your scores from both games will be added together
The 7 players with the highest combined scores will advance to the final
The final will be allowed to play to Winter 1915 before adjudication
Games can end in three ways:
1) A player achieves a solo victory by holding 18 supply centers
2) All draw vote passes, resulting in the game being scored per the C-Diplo rules
3) The game is adjudicated after the Winter 1910 phase and scored per the C-Diplo rules

In the event that tie breakers are needed, they will be as follows:
1) The player who has the highest single-game score
2) The player with the higher average Supply Center count from both Game Sets
3) The player with the higher score from Game Set #1
4) The player with the higher score from Game Set #2
5) Die roll, as determined by random.org
Your nations for each game will be determined randomly. Every effort will be made to assure that each player gets a different nation in each Game Set, as well as a variety of different opponents.
The Scoring System
We will be using C-Diplo for this tournament. What that means is that there will be a total of 100 points available in each game. The points get split up as follows:
Each player gets 1 point for participating in the game
1 point per Supply Center held at the end
38 bonus points for topping the board
14 bonus points for the 2nd place player
7 bonus points for the 3rd place player
In the event of a Solo win, the winner will get ALL 100 points and the other six players will receive ZERO points for the game
In the event of a draw, players will be ranked based on the number of supply centers owned during the most recent adjustments.
In practice, this means that he scoring system prioritizes solos (100 points), which are better than
topping the board (45-56 points), which is better than
jointly topping the board (28-39 points), which is better than
having the 2nd highest SC total (19-31 points), which is better than
sharing 2nd place (12-24 points), which is better than
3rd highest SC total, and so on.
To be clear, a 6 center table top will get you 45 points, while a 16 center second place will receive 31.

Rules of conduct
Deception, half-truths, and outright lies are part of the diplomat's toolbox in this game. Odds are that you will be betrayed by someone who you thought was an ally, and tempers can become heated. Regardless, all players are expected to behave in a mature manner. Use of profanity and/or abusive language in both public and private press is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in sanctions from the GM team up to and including removal from the tournament.
All players are expected to work in their own self-interest at all times
If a player NMRs two consecutive turns, the website WILL remove them from the game. The GM reserves the option to either allow the position to go into civil disorder or designate a replacement player.
